Madhu obtained his PhD in Enterprise Risk Management from the University of Southampton, UK. He also holds MSc Insurance & Risk Management from City University, London and MSc & BSc (Honours) in mathematics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.
His research focuses on the broader perspective of enterprise risk management in both financial & non-financial sectors including strategic & operational risk, capital adequacy and solvency regulations in banks & insurance, risk & governance, climate risk, alternative risk financing, micro-finance & micro-insurance.
Madhu has published in many peer reviewed journals including Geneva Papers on Risk & Insurance, Risk Management & Insurance Review amongst others. The ultimate aim of his teaching & research is to bring the works of risk academics and risk practitioners closer. Madhu currently teaches several risk management modules including enterprise risk & modelling, global risk management, risk financing & insurance, financial services regulations and research methods in finance & risk. Professionally Madhu is a qualified chartered insurer with the Chartered Insurance Institute, London and fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, London.
He is the winner of the 2006 SHIN research excellence award presented by the Geneva Association (Switzerland) and the International Insurance Society (USA).
