Ruth Marciniak is the Head of Learning, Teaching and Quality at GCU London teaching postgraduate modules in marketing communications, branding and experiential marketing.
Her PhD study, submitted in 2007, examined ecommerce strategy planning process in the UK fashion retail sector. She is an active researcher with research outputs in the Journal of International Marketing and the European Journal of Marketing, also, book chapters and conference papers. In addition, she has conducted research for large fashion retail organisations.
Her research interests are in retail experience, customer engagement and digital and social media marketing. Areas of current PhD research supervision include:
- Influencer identity, well-being and brand equity
- Impact of social media on purchase intentions
- Fashion Industry Development in Africa
In addition, working with the GCU London Learning Development Centre, she has successfully secured internal research funding for pedagogic research in the areas of student belonging, engagement and participation and also late enrolment and student performance.
Ruth is a reviewer for the Journal of International Marketing, Qualitative Market Research and the International Journal of Emerging Markets and has peer -reviewed textbooks for Bloomsbury, De Gruyter and Routledge.
