Glasgow Caledonian’s Moffat Centre released figures showing how Scotland’s tourist attractions are recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns of recent years.

The data, compiled for the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions, highlighted that in 2022 there was a surge of 53.5% in visitor numbers to venues including Edinburgh Castle, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Burrell Collection and the National Museum of Scotland. However, the figures also identified that the recovery is being driven by UK domestic demand and overall numbers are still 16% down on the pre-pandemic levels of 2019.
