ReaCH
The Research Centre for Health (ReaCH), in the School of Health and Life Sciences, was launched in February 2021 and provides a hub for research excellence at Glasgow Caledonian University. Our goal is to translate evidence-based applied health research into meaningful action, improving health and wellbeing for all.
Glasgow Caledonian University has a global reputation as a leader in health research with real-world impact, making a difference to people’s lives at home and abroad. 91% of research carried out by the centre was deemed world-leading or internationally excellent in the latest UK-wide research assessment Research Excellence Framework results.

- Molecular mechanisms of long-term conditions
- Musculoskeletal health
- Safeguarding Health through Infection Prevention (SHIP)
- Sexual health and blood-borne viruses

- Vision research.
Our goal is to have a lasting and positive impact on the lives of individuals and wider society. We aim to reach out to communities as part of our Common Good philosophy to make a real difference in the quality of people’s lives in Scotland and around the world.
