Patient and public involvement

Our research seeks to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being. We are investing in patient and public involvement so that you, the public, can shape, steer and drive our health research.

Your knowledge and experiences of health, health care and health conditions are extremely valuable and can help us to create exciting and innovative research projects which can benefit and improve the lives of people like you, the people of Scotland, and beyond.

If you are interested in getting involved, you will have an equal voice in shaping our research, where our researchers will listen to your views and ideas on what and how we should be researching.

If you are new to patient and public involvement activities for health research, we will support you at every step of the way through our induction programme and buddy system and will reimburse you for your time and effort.

Getting involved couldn’t be easier. If you would like to know more or get involved, please contact us by email at ppi@gcu.ac.uk.

There is something for everyone. Find out more about our research areas. You can be involved as much or as little as possible. You can be involved in shaping research in areas that are of interest to you or have a more formal role in evaluating our research applications in a variety of areas.

Your contributions to patient and public involvement are like giving blood, they are hugely valuable and will help others who are in need. Please help us to shape and improve our research, for the health and well-being of our society. We can’t wait to hear from you.
