The Q@GCU team is a core group of researchers from the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health: Professor Rachel Baker and Professor Helen Mason and Dr Neil McHugh and Dr Jack Rendall. The team has been involved in Q studies across a range of social science topics including; health care resource allocation, health inequalities, poverty, work integration social enterprises, community land ownership, green microfinance and COVID-19.
We have lots of experience and world-leading expertise in combining Q Methodology with survey techniques (Q2S) to measure the prevalence of views identified from a Q study in larger samples.

Q Methodology introductory workshop
We run an annual Q Methodology workshop to introduce the principles and techniques of Q Methodology. This interactive workshop is for those looking for an introduction to Q Methodology and is especially suited for people with limited or no prior experience. It provides an overview of the essential steps for conducting a Q study: concourse theory, statement selection, P-set selection, Q-sorting, factor analysis and data interpretation. Previously an in-person two-day workshop, we have redesigned it to run online.
The next workshop will be delivered online by the Q@GCU team over four afternoon sessions:

- 1pm - 10th May 2024
- 1pm - 13th May 2024
- 1pm - 14th May 2024
The course fees are as follows :
- £400 for students
- £550 academics/public sector
- £700 private sector
