Dr Alexis Barlow holds a PhD on the 'Strategic Role of Internet-Related Technologies in Supply Chain Networks' awarded from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2004. She also has a first class honours in a BA (Honours) in Business Information Technology and a PGC in Advanced Academic Studies. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. Dr Barlow has been with Glasgow Caledonian University for fifteen years and is currently in the Department of Business Management in the Glasgow School for Business and Society.
Dr Barlow served as Programme Leader on the BA (Hons) Management, Technology & Enterprise programme for six years. She has recently taken on the role of College Connect Lead for the Department of Business Management. She has taught on a wide range of modules and programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA level. She has supervised UG and PG dissertation students, PhD students and examined doctoral level thesis. Furthermore, she has been an external examiner for the University of West of Scotland.
Dr Barlow has extensive expertise and research output in the areas of e-business, supply chain management, social media and innovation. She has been involved in various consultancy activities including Innovation Voucher Schemes, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Greater Glasgow Articulation Partnership projects and, most recently, has developed various skills screening questionnaires for Opito.
