Angela Sutherland

Angela Sutherland is a Senior Lecturer with a wealth of programme leadership and teaching experience at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels at several Universities across the West of Scotland.
She has over 36 years’ experience working in public, private and voluntary sector organisations including IBM, National Semiconductors, Oxfam, PSS, Quarriers, managing a private Residential Care organisation as well as having held the position of Vice President of a third sector organisation for nearly a decade. She also established and developed her own company with an International customer clientele base prior to selling the business as a successful going concern.
Angela is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, and Member of the Institute of Operations Management; the Humanitarian Logistics Association; the Chartered Management Institute and CEED. She has GSBS-wide responsibility for postgraduate student induction and has leadership of several modules at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
Angela is currently undertaking a doctorate study, evaluating internal stakeholders’ perspectives on the effectiveness of management of the integration of postgraduate students across Scottish Business Schools.
She has several publications and her paper on NHS Lanarkshire’s Leadership Development Programme’s Impact on Clinical Practice was ranked in the top ten of the most downloaded papers in this domain of the National Library of Medicine's MEDLINE® database (2013).
Angela was awarded the 2013/14 GCUSA Students’ Association Teaching Award for Fantastic Feedback and was also shortlisted for the 2013/14 GCUSA award for Excellent Explanation.
