Brian’s teaching experience revolves heavily around the sociology of work, employment relations and critical approaches to HRM. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, as well as a member of the CIPD.
Brian’s work experience, prior to academia, was centred around retail management and in the hospitality sector.
Brian’s research interests focus on work precarity, employee misbehaviour, employee resistance and service sector realities of employment. Within his research, he utilises autoethnography and netnography.
Brian is also working alongside colleagues at Strathclyde Business School on critical pedagogy research on the use of experiential learning to assess undergraduate students.
