Chris is a nurse who has worked in a variety of settings with people with learning disabilities and has extensive experience of teaching in Higher Education, curriculum development, academic leadership and PhD supervision.  Chris represents the University on a number of national steering groups for nursing. He has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a BSc [Hons] in English Studies, a Masters Degree in Education and a PhD which was a critical exploration of relations of power between lecturers and students using a genealogical method adapted from the work of Michel Foucault.

Chris has developed partnerships with a number of third sector organisations including PAMIS and Quarriers. His research interests include teaching and learning in Higher Education, health promotion for people with learning disabilities, service user involvement in nursing curricula, and families’ experiences of living with a child with learning disabilities. He has presented at a number of international conferences and is a reviewer for a number of international journals including Journal of Advanced Nursing, Nurse Education Today, Journal of Intellectual Disabilities, Nursing Inquiry and Qualitative Health Research.
