Lisa Cowan is a lecturer in the department of Vision Sciences. She is an Independent Prescribing Optometrist, with a clinical interest in glaucoma.

Lisa has higher qualifications from the College of Optometrists in both Independent Prescribing and Glaucoma, and combines her work at Glasgow Caledonian with a clinical role as a Specialist Optometrist in NHS Forth Valley.

At Glasgow Caledonian she teaches on both undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including clinical supervision of final year optometry students, leading modules on Professional Regulation in Eyecare and Glaucoma and Advanced Primary Care Management, alongside teaching glaucoma-related content on several other modules within Vision Sciences.
