Emmanuel is the Head of Department of Economics and Law and Reader in Applied Statistics at GCU's Glasgow School for Business and Society. He is responsible for providing academic, strategic and operational leadership within his department to enable a high-quality student and staff experience.
Emmanuel has over 60 research publications covering topics in various fields from economics and tourism to fashion, marketing, data science and AI (to name a few). He has experience as an investigator on small research grants ( projects ranging up to £50k) funded by both industry and the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre. He also serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Forecasting (ABS3), Tourism Economics (ABS2), and Annals of Tourism Research Empirical Insights.
Previously, Emmanuel was a Lecturer in Quantitative Methods, Course Leader MSc (integrated) Strategic Fashion Management, Head of Research Coordination, Interim Director for Research and Reader at Fashion Business School, London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London (UAL). He was the development lead for (the then world’s first) MSc Fashion Analytics and Forecasting course at UAL.
Emmanuel completed his PhD at Bournemouth University where his research focused on theoretical developments and applications in Singular Spectrum Analysis. He also holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Actuarial Science and MSc in Risk Management from the University of Southampton, UK.
