Gerald joined Glasgow Caledonian University in July 2022 after three years at Edinburgh Napier Business School where he completed a PGCert in Learning, Teaching and Assessment Practice in Higher Education and was awarded Fellowship of Advance Higher Education (FHEA).
Currently, he is module leader for the Global MBA module Corporate Social Responsibility for Sustainable Development and the SCQF Level 7 undergraduate module Management Theory and Concepts. Gerald further supports the Department of Management in his roles as academic tutor and internationalisation lead.
Prior to this Gerald submitted his Doctoral Thesis through Heriot-Watt University in October 2019, researching how performance measurement and management impact organisational learning in the development of collaborative advantage in NPOs.
After graduating BA (Hons) in Spanish and Italian Studies from the University of Strathclyde, Gerald spent eight years with a national NGO. Principally he offered advice and quality provisions for new and mature businesses with links to Scottish tourism while developing relationships among industry stakeholders. This, alongside experience in retail, hospitality and overseas education, informs a professional perspective in the delivery of academic modules for students.
