Ms Irene Kennedy is a Deputy Head of Department/Senior Lecturer and the Department Strategic Lead for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions within the Department of Nursing and Community Health which sits within the School of Health and Life Sciences.
Irene has worked at GCU since 2002. She is a Registered Nurse and has a background in paediatric cardiac nursing within the NHS.
Irene has a keen interest in widening participation initiatives, delivering transformative education and enhancing the employability of our students and graduates.
Irene has a research interest in education, and child and family health. Currently she supervises, master's, honour's and undergraduate students within nursing, public health and students returning to practice. Irene has successfully supervised at master’s level and is an external examiner.
