Jane joined the School of Health and Life Sciences in 2008 as a Learning Developer and has since contributed to the development of a successful, enhancement-led Learning Development Centre. As a Learning Developer, she works collaboratively with departmental staff and students to embed academic literacies in the curriculum and support individual learner journeys.
Jane’s PhD is in sports psychology and as a former consultant, she saw the need to support athletes as people rather than performers. She brings this theme to learning development where, in addition to developing academic literacies, she nurtures self-understanding and positive mindset. Jane’s research interests lie in understanding how individual differences, most notably perfectionism, influence learning and the wider student experience.
