Katie is an Occupational Therapy Lecturer and Research Lead for the Department of Occupational Therapy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
She graduated from the Glasgow School of Occupational Therapy in 1989 and has over 30 years experience of working as an Occupational Therapist. She completed her MSc Community Health at GCU in 2006.
Katie joined GCU as a Lecturer in 2009 and completed her PgC Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in 2010. She became a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2015.
Katie graduated with her PhD in 2016 on the use of Commercial Gaming for Stroke Upper Limb Rehabilitation.
Her areas of interest are stroke rehabilitation, assistive technology and global health. She is the GCU representative on the European Network of Occupational Therapists in Higher Education (ENOTHE).
