Lynne Scott
PhD Student
Yunus Centre
Lynne joined the Yunus Centre in October 2023. Lynne’s PhD is entitled “Where is the Community in Community Wealth Building?” and is supervised by Dr Micaela Mazzei and Dr Gillian Murray.
Working in collaboration with Development Trusts Association Scotland, Lynne’s research explores the implementation of the Scottish Government’s commitment to a national community wealth-building strategy. Her PhD investigates the ways in which local government is working with community groups, how this varies across local authority areas, and the impact of these efforts on the communities that they seek to benefit.
Prior to joining the Yunus Centre, Lynne gained a BA (Hons) in International Business and Tourism Management, an MSc in Social Innovation, and is currently undertaking an MRes at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Lynne has previous experience as a Responsible Tourism Executive at VisitScotland, supporting Scottish tourism businesses with the transition to a low-carbon economy and promoting inclusive and accessible tourism practices.
