Mark is the Head of Department for Civil Engineering and Environmental Management.
His current research activities focus on the thermal, energy and moisture properties of buildings and their fabric. He is in engaged in a variety of such studies for a mixture of public and private sector organisations and undertakes bespoke consultancy in this area for commercial clients. Particular areas of expertise include the implications of thermal and moisture transport in buildings, sustainable construction, the implications of climate change for UK construction, thermal performance of building components and whole building energy efficiency.
