Martha joined the GCU in October 2023 having previously worked at King’s College London (KCL). Her primary research interest is in substance misuse including its intersection with mental health problems and social determinants of health, and the impact of substance misuse in the family. She is currently the lead-researcher of a project funded by Nuffield Foundation about parents of dependent children attending substance use treatment services and involvement in care proceedings (Family Court).
Martha is also interested in research methods applied to Psychology and the use of routinely collected electronic health records data in research. She has worked as an adviser for the NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) London.
She received her PhD in 2015 from the University of Roehampton and has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Statistical Modelling and Health Informatics, KCL.
