Mandy is a PhD researcher with a specialist focus on exploring physical spatial University campus environments and student attrition, particularly within the UK and Japan.
A Carnegie Trust Vocational Researcher alumnus, she has presented her research at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh and had her research findings presented to the Scottish government.
Her work is informed by lived experience of poverty and is driven by a commitment to understanding and mitigating its impact on students' educational outcomes and life chances.
