Melanie is an Academic Development Tutor in the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment.  Melanie has a specialist background in English for Academic Purposes for International students. She has a background in module leadership, curriculum development and teaching and learning pedagogy. She incorporates an interest in mentoring and reflective practice for professional development into her work. She has also worked at universities in Germany and Switzerland with travel in China, Russia and SE Asia. Graduating originally in Business Studies with Languages, she worked as an editor, a features writer and a chef in Australia. She is captain of a coastal rowing team and is keen on water sports, cycling and hillwalking.
