Mike’s PhD started in in 2017 (ongoing 2021), and is focused on exploring the co-production of public policy from the perspectives of various stakeholders. Mike was connected to the Yunus Centre via his work in social enterprise in Nova Scotia, Canada.
His research interests span co-production, the application of complexity systems theory to policy development, the role of the accountant in social justice, and accounting education. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) by training and has previously served as a tenure-track lecturer in accountancy at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. He also holds a Master of Professional Accounting through the University of Saskatchewan.
He currently resides in Rossland, British Columbia, Canada where he spends a lot of time climbing up and falling down mountains on skis and bikes, depending on the season.
