Orla McVicar

Orla McVicar is a lecturer in Human Resource Management within the Department for Business Management.

Her teaching responsibilities are in the design, delivery and assessment of a range of modules on various undergraduate and master's level programmes. These include the areas of resourcing and talent management, personal and professional development, diversity and cross-cultural management, and she is presently the module leader for a core Level 2 module, People and Work.

Orla is the current Programme Leader for the Part-Time MSc Human Resource Management, resulting in her close involvement in the admissions process and teaching for the programme.

She has a generalist HRM background, and her research interests are in the areas of equality and diversity management, gender equality, talent management and career progression, and human resource development.

Orla has been involved in consultancy provision for external clients and has contributed to a European partnership project focussed on gender equality. She is a Chartered Member of the CIPD, and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
