Dr Richard Danyi joined Glasgow Caledonian University in 2021 as a Lecturer in Engineering Mathematics within the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Richard graduated in Mathematics and Physics with first class honour in 2012 at Keele University and was awarded PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2018 with thesis title ”Global instability of mixing layer created by confinement” also at Keele University. In 2018 Richard have successfully completed the Keele’s PGCert in Teaching and learning in Higher Education and was awarded the title Fellow of Higher Education Academy.

Prior to joining GCU Richard held position at Keele University as a Teaching fellow in Mathematics and at University of Hull as a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics. His teaching was awarded Student Choice Award in 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2020 Richard was the organizer of Royal Institute Masterclasses in Mathematics at University of Hull.

Richard's main research area is Hydrodynamic Stability Theory with interested in aspects of fluid stability and high Reynolds number flows. Richard is also interested in use and application of Mathematics and Differential Equations in Engineering problems.
