Richard is an HCPC Registered and BPS Chartered Counselling Psychologist, qualifying from the Surrey University Doctoral programme in Counselling Psychology in 1998. He has worked in NHS primary and secondary mental healthcare services, as well as in the third sector with Maggie's Cancer Caring Trust, within which he set up the psychology and psycho-social support services for the Glasgow centre. At GCU part-time since 2007, Richard is the Deputy Programme Director for the D.Psych programme in Counselling Psychology. He also maintains his clinical practice in Glasgow through 'Nurture Health and Psychology Services' for which he is Director.
