Ruby has a background in the third sector, supporting people with experience of the care system to identify and fulfil their career/education aspirations, including working with refugees & asylum seekers. She has developed and managed innovative employer partnerships, a national employability and lifelong advocacy service, creative participation projects, and mentoring programmes focused on reducing inequality. She has trained a wide range of organisations and professionals, building their capacity to practice in a trauma-aware and relationship-based way.
Ruby has also worked as a Diversity and Inclusion Adviser to private companies and public sector bodies, utilising key legislation and culture change methods to further gender and race equity, from an intersectional stance.
Ruby is a board member of the Workers’ Educational Association Scotland.
