Ruth joined the teaching team in 2005 following an internship at the Academic Unit of Musculoskeletal Disease, Leeds ‌University. She was funded on a prestigious Arthritis Research UK AHP Fellowship from 2008-2011 to undertake her PhD on a full time basis. Her research interests are in the effects of arthritis on the foot and lower limb and her thesis was entitled ‘Tibialis posterior tenosynovitis in RA: Targeting mechanics and inflammation’. Ruth successfully completed her PhD in early 2012 and continues to be an active member of the MSK research group. Ruth has taught on various clinical and academic podiatry modules, including subjects such as: rheumatology, lower limb biomechanics, functional anatomy, gait analysis. Ruth is currently the year tutor for final year undergraduate students.
