Sean Paul Carroll is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy with a specialist interest in chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, cardiovascular disease, and how they influence exercise, physical activity, and well-being. Sean is in the final stages of his PhD which aims to explore walking exercise behaviour change and non-pharmacological pain management to improve physical activity in people with intermittent claudication.
Sean has a clinical background as a Physiotherapist within the NHS for several years in the orthopaedics and musculoskeletal specialities, as well as sporting environments, insurance-based and private healthcare. In addition, Sean has held roles within robotic hip and knee arthroplasty. Training and working with orthopaedic consultants across the UK in preoperative implant planning, implant sizing and positioning, alongside clinical intraoperative support in robotic arm applications, associated equipment, and instruments.
