Dr Susan Ogden is a Senior Lecturer in Management. While experienced in teaching and researching across a range of management subject areas, her current specialist interests relate mainly to procurement, performance and environmental management and continuous improvement in the public and not-for-profit sectors. In addition, she also has research interests in career development particularly in relation to gender issues. Since completing her PhD in 1994, she has published in a wide range of journals (for example International Journal of Public Sector Management, Public Money and Management, Employee Relations, TQM and Business Excellence, Career Development International, Women in Management Review), as well as contributing to books and conferences.
Susan has also provided external consultancy and management development in the area of strategic performance management and improvement. She has also co-led a three-year European Social Fund project examining issues relating to gender balance in management.
Susan is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy/Advanced HE. She is also a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and served on the CMI Scotland Board from 2013 to 2016. She is currently serving as a volunteer board member on NHS Scotland’s Procurement Strategic Group.
