Student Awards Agency Scotland – SAAS,  is now open for 2024-25 full-time and part-time SAAS funded students.

All Discretionary & Childcare Funds have now closed for the 2023/24 academic year. The funds will re-open for the 2024/25 academic year at the start of Trimester A, funds permitting

The Discretionary Fund is available to help with study and living costs if you are struggling financially. There are certain eligibility criteria that need to be met in order to apply.

Students who are experiencing particular financial hardship should make an appointment to speak to a Funding Advisor.

Applications usually take three to four weeks to fully process. Please note that applications that are not fully completed, or missing relevant documentation, will be moved to the end of the queue and this will result in a significant delay of possibly weeks in processing your application.

Please check the Documents you may need to have ready before applying to ensure you upload all the required documentation with your application

Non-Nursing & Paramedic students, who have compulsory summer placements, can also apply for help towards registered childcare costs in Trimester C

The Childcare Fund is available for Home students to help towards registered childcare costs during term time. These costs may include a nursery, childminder or after-school care.

Please remember to download the GCU Carer form part A  to be completed by your childcare provider.

If you are struggling financially and require a laptop to study your course online, you can apply to the Digital Inclusion laptop loan scheme”.
