What’s next?

When UCAS receives your application, it is forwarded to the relevant universities. The admissions team then considers your application and via UCAS, tells you if you have been successful or not.

Each university you have applied to responds in one of the following ways:

  • Conditional: contains goals to achieve in exams pending to secure your place on the course
  • Unconditional: your exam results or previous experience are sufficient to gain entry and information regarding the course and start dates will be mailed out
  • Unsuccessful: your qualifications, completed or pending, are insufficient for entry to the course
  • Course full: you have applied after the 15 January deadline and there are no places left on the course.

If your application is successful

You can then narrow your choices to two – a firm acceptance and an insurance acceptance.

If your application is unsuccessful

If you do not receive a conditional or unconditional offer, you still have options. Find out more information below.
