Overview
This course supports the development of reflective critical thinkers who are equipped to meet contemporary political, organisational, and clinical practice demands within District Nursing.
You'll learn advanced decision-making skills to become a resilient and proactive leader, ready to provide excellent coproduced care to individuals and communities. This course allows first level registered (Adult) nurses to advance their career aspirations by seeking the NMC recordable qualifications of Specialist Practice District Nurse (SPDN) and Independent/Supplementary Prescriber (V300).
Graduate prospects
Upon successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma Specialist Practice District Nurse course, you'll achieve recordable qualifications with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) as both a Specialist Practitioner (District Nursing) and as a Nurse Independent/Supplementary Prescriber.
Candidates are also able to return following completion of their PgD and complete the dissertation module within MSc Community Nursing course to gain a full Master’s degree, MSc Community Nursing.
