Overview
In accordance with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) postgraduate training and development guidelines, our challenge-led multidisciplinary MRes combines broad-based and applied research training across multiple methodologies and transferable research skills. Designed for those seeking to enhance their research knowledge, this course is delivered by experienced researchers from across the University.
The MRes supports cross-disciplinary research discussions to address societal challenges including the UN Sustainable Development Goals and encourages immersion in the University research culture and community. You'll experience an interactive delivery of the syllabus, practical application of your research skills and access to further research methods training and workshops.
Graduate Prospects
The MRes is designed to support your progression to doctoral-level research across a range of disciplinary topics and give you a taste of doctorate study before you commit. The MRes will also enhance your research skills and expertise in managing, commissioning, and utilising research evidence in a professional context. Graduates can access research and policy work within academia and the public, private, and third sectors.

This is a flexible course; you can complete the course in one year through full-time study or over two years of part-time study enabling you to combine work and study.
