Postgraduate loan: apply for funding
From the 2024/25 academic year, the amount of funding available to postgraduate students is changing.
What’s changing
The tuition fee loan will increase from £5,500 to £7,000. This is to cover the rising cost of tuition fees.
Full-time students can also apply for a living cost loan of up to £4,500, and apply for the special support loan of £2,400 making the total funding available £13,900.
Postgraduate funding will also be made available for:
- full-time eligible courses in the rest of the UK
- eligible courses at designated private providers in Scotland and the rest of the UK
Course length
If your course is longer than 1 academic year, and you’re splitting your fee loan over the length of your course, you will receive an increased loan in 2024/25.
