Boots Opticians Limited (Boots) is proud to support new optometry students at GCU from the UK, through scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Boots Optometry Scholarship includes an annual stipend of £1,500 throughout the four years of their studies at GCU. Additional benefits include paid work placement opportunities and other opportunities to engage with the organisation.

Candidates are required to complete an online application form outlining their motivations for applying.
Scholarship recipients will be selected by Boots, the GCU Foundation and the GCU Optometry course leaders based on financial need, merit and motivational reasons.

Funding is for a full-time first-year student over the course of their four-year undergraduate degree, starting from the intake in September 2025.
The award is non-transferable to any other course if you change your course to the one specified at the time of application. Awards cannot be deferred to another academic session.
By completing this application, you are authorising GCU to share details with the donor of the funds, Boots Opticians Limited. The recipient of the Boots Scholarship will be required to provide a short, annual report on the impact of the scholarship at the end of each academic year, as well as to provide any other promotional material such as images and quotes when required. Attendance at any scholarship-related events. The Data Controller for this scholarship application is Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). Further information is available on the GCU website.
