Transition Programme

The Transition Programme has been designed to help ease the arrival of college students to Glasgow Caledonian. Students will be invited onto campus for a subject-group-specific, one-day session covering six different themes to learn how they can be applied in a relevant academic context at GCU.

The themes are:

• Expectations, concerns and support
• Effective time management
• Applied critical thinking
• Reading for academic purposes
• Writing for academic purposes
• Academic referencing.

Key information

As a college applicant to Glasgow Caledonian, the College Connect Team will contact you by email to register to attend a one-day session on campus between June and September 2024.

The University expects all students progressing to university from college to register and attend the Transition Programme.

Students who are unable to physically attend GCU campus due to extenuating circumstances will be able to complete our online Transition Programme. We will be in touch shortly with details on how to register.
